MINECRAFT: Texture Packs
This is the default texture pack, I thought it was alright for awhile, but eventually i got curious as to the other texture packages out there.
One of the main complaints about Minecraft is it's graphics, and these arguments either are, "The block nature of the game is stupid..." or "The textures are stupid". The first argument is subjective, i happen to think the block nature of the game is quite unique and works well for what the game is trying to accomplish. The other argument I am more inclined to agree with. While the default texture pack is kind of charming, I don't care for it much. So i downloaded SLEEK BUILD 1.1.

Crazy Match that got 3v3 team into Platinum
Ravage, VeRiTaS, and I were playing some 3v3 matches on SC2 last night, and we were going random, just for the hell of it. Me and Ravage got zerg this game, while VeRiTaS got Protoss. At VeRiTaS's urging, me and Ravage, 10 pooled, got speedlings, and rushed, nearly killing the other teams zerg player. Now, i used to think i sucked at playing zerg, but i don't know anymore. Even with our enemies economic (and tec) advantage, me and Ravage survived for a while. I became fed up with suiciding speedlings at our enemies enormous army, so i decided to go banes. Getting them just in time, the enemies did a full out triple attack aganist me...figures -.- my banes slammed into their army as it ran up the ramp to my base, and i did a lot of damage, but not enough. One of our opponents even decided to say "GG" to us. i though i was done. Ravage had thrown his lings at the army along with mine, and now we both had nothing. But, *GASP* VeRiTaS came to the rescue. He had a full army of zels, stalkers, and sentries. he wiped up the remains of the triple attack, me and ravage pumped out batches of speedlings, and we countered. there was one of each on the other team, a terran, a protoss, and a zerg. the zerg was basically dead already from me and Ravage's zerg rush, so we attacked the protoss guy (the one who said GG to us like we should have surrendered.) we killed him. thus, both him and the zerg guy left the game. perhaps the Terran guy thought he could take us, for he hesitated. But, perhaps upon remembering that i had bane(ling) tec, which incinerates marines, he turned and fled, leaving the game...we got pushed up into platinum because of this, and me and Ravage were arguably playing our worst faction-zerg...

My 400th Win on StarCraft II
I was Extremely bored today, so what else but play Starcraft 2 for a few hours. i don't know these people on my team, they are just random, so yea, judge them how you will, but i basically did a classic Terran strategy of marines and marauders , upgraded attack, stim researched, and medivacs, with a few vikings thrown in to counter motherships -.- a few people went mass stalkers, so to no surprise, i came out as the top score for this match, since stimmed marauders just eat stalkers for breakfast, but then again, they probably couldn't handle my extreme skills lol.

marvel vs capcom 3
i recently purchased marvel vs capcom 3. its a sequel (obviously) to some older fighting games that you used to see at the arcade a lot. The game adds new fighters, as well as removes some. Ken form Street Fighter was removed, i know many people were upset over that. The imprtant thing here though is that it dosent matter how many fighters there are to choose from if some of them are just plain bad. Normally they would be balanced like attack speed over reach or defense over speed, but here range is everything. When picking your 3 person team all you have to do is pick 2 people with long reach (aka Dante,Trish, the dog from ookami, and Chris from RE5) and a 3rd person with annoying healing or ranged support moves. The support is another feature of the MVC series that bothered me, its too damn hectic. You can summon your partners whenever you want with an about 2 second cool down. this means anybody who can tap the L and R buttons the whole time will probably win without even having to put the smallest effort into combos. The soundtrack is good with every character having their own theme song, however the sound effects of the chaotic mush of 6 fighters on screen most of the time drown out everything. This game is easy compared to other fighters, the combos are simple and you can button mash your way to all the super moves. However the Ai is particularly skilled, even on normal mode. on the brighter side theirs a great deal of fan service here, if you like a specific character form the game you can unlock special artwork and story for that character. you can also choose from English or Japanese voices, or a mixture of the 2 depending on your own preferences. there are 4 fighters to unlock but i did that my first session with the game. also right off the bat they want you to buy extra fighters as DLC. overall i give this game a 2/5 because 1 it was too easy to pick Dante and solo EVERYONE, and 2 i want to hear the awesome soundtracks, dont drown them out with SFX!
ps. you'll notice my grammar here sucks, but its 12 now and i want to go to bed.
MineCraft BETA: Review
Gameplay 5/5
The game play in Minecraft is subjective, with the two default Gamemodes being quite polarizing. The game modes included in the 15 Euro(approximately 20 dollar purchase) include survival and sandbox modes. The survival mode is great for players who want to build castles and fight monsters. However the combat mechanic is still a little raw, however i have never played a game where i was so afraid to die in my life. Sandbox mode is peaceful, and no monster are present, gamers are able to mine and build their own castles in peace. Any complaints about the games gamemodes are easily remedied by imagination and mods.
Graphics 2/5
While the game is still in beta testing, the graphics are incredibly dated. There were games back in 2001 with better graphics and arguably earlier. However the graphics are the way they are because the game is completely malleable, anything can be broken or built and the appearance of this game can be modded. The game still receives pretty poor score for graphics however, due to the fact that we've been playing games with better graphics for over a decade.
Sound 3/5
The soundtrack to the game is phenomenal considering it only consists of very few tracks, the music sounds as though you are building and traveling under the earth and really adds to the atmosphere. The sound effects are alright, but sometimes feel slightly out of place. Another complaint about the sound is there is relatively no environmental dampeners(As far as i know) and its all distance based. AS this game is a beta and people enjoy their own music when running games, the sound doesn't detract from the game play.
Lasting Appeal 5/5
The game is still in beta and already its incredibly addicting. The mod support and the constant updates are a huge plus, although the main designer is away on vacation, eventually he promises to release more updates and the game is discounted as it is still beta. Minecraft challenges you to create your own world and gives u nothing but your imagination and the world around you to do it. It is truly a unique experience.
Bottom Line, 15/20
The game is still in beta and is highly subjective. Play the game for yourself before you completely dismiss it based on the graphics. The constant updates and mod support mean that this score is relatively low compared to the true potential of this intriguingly unique "indie" game. I've played the game for hours and i still can't get back to my other games, Starcraft, Warcraft, and Xbox. Or my neglected Anime series'.

Wud up Platinum- here we come - 4v4
Last night me and Ravage decided to play with some friends, and formed a new 4v4 team. This game was our 3rd placement match, and hell, we are going to get placed into platinum. having a solid team of 2 terrans, 1 toss, and a zerg, we make a difficult team to counter, yet in this match, it looked like everything was going to hell. Right in the beginning, a person on the other team quits, given the 3 guys left a huge economic advantage, (they basically had an expo right from the beginning) Ravage decided to float over to the island to go fast banshees. So me, VeRiTaS, and XxAeQuiTaSxX were left to fend for ourselves for a little while. VeRiTaS did some early scouting and found one of our opponents also flew to the last island. i immediately went for dropships but VeRiTaS had it covered, using a warp prism, he warped in some zels and stalkers and destroyed the island guys base. Unfortunately, he lifted off his buildings, so VeRiTaS couldn't finish him off completely. Around now, Ravage had banshees and went straight for the guy who quit. he destroyed the base, thereby smashing the economic advantage our opponents had for too long. XxAeQuiTaSxX meanwhile was getting corruptors, broodlords, and mutas. unfortunately, VeRiTaS encountered a not so friendly force of massed mutas. This guy must of been leeching off of the extra resources right from the beginning. There was too many for us to even take on. i started pumping marines and thors, and eventually vikings. sadly, Ravage did not have enough time to fortify his position against this massive air attack on his island, and thus the mutas came.
Thankfully, Ravage already had an expo on the mainland that was relatively safe. Yet, Ravage was mainly out of the game for a little while after his island base got killed, which was a major blow to morale and to our momentum. meanwhile, me and VeRiTaS found out a disturbing truth. all 3 of our opponents were massing units. the terran guy who fled the island, soon became a pain in the ass by massing marauders and medivacs. the protoss guy who was relatively quiet, all of a sudden came out of no where with massed fully upgraded stalkers, which he would keep pumping insanely until the end of the game, and finally, the zerg scrub who massed mutas. eventually, between all the massing, XxAeQuiTaSxX fell, and our outlook was grim. perhaps because of rage, or because we are just that good, me and VeRiTaS held the line, pushing whenever we could to hit expos and bases. me and him soon dealt what was probably the death blow to the zerg player, whom Ravage so graciously asked us to kill, because you know, he just loved massed mutas that much. Stalker boy kept killing our army though, so me and VeRiTaS decided he was next.
Low and behold, Ravage came back. He showed these bitches, that if you want to mass units, do it right. WE CALLED THE FLEET, and hell it did not disappoint, with VeRiTaS's army of zealots, stalkers, sentries, high templars, and immortals, my army of thors, marauders, marines, medivacs, and vikings, and Ravage's fleet of massed battlecrusiers, we went in for the kill. perhaps it was just me, but it seemed like it fell upon myself to kill stalker boy, he just crumbled, my combo of units was too much for his scrub strategy.
After we killed stalker boy, the only person left, was the terran guy, and once again, after me and VeRiTaS wiped out his base, he fled to his island, yet again. we watched with laughter as ravage picked apart his AA defenses and covered the island in the shadow of the battlecrusiers. not only was this an amazingly unpredicatble game, but it shows that you should always have a good combo of units, massing crap is usually not good (in Ravage's case, we thought we lost anyway), and in this game, our team shows how you get things done, like a damn boss!

The Amazing Comeback Kids - 2v2
Ravage and I played some 2v2's today, and in this particular game, found ourselves with our backs against the wall from the very beginning. With my own main base nearly obliterated and Ravage holding on to a single thread of life, i began my quiet ascension to power. The enemy army consisted of upgraded hydras, zerglings, and a protoss mix of stalkers, dark templars, and colossi. While Ravage courageously held the line with a good combo mix of Protoss units like stalkers, sentries, dark templars, and some zealots, i began my assembly line of tanks, soon, in perfect timing, i had at least 10 tanks, Giving him full control of my army, I continued to pump out units like a well oiled assembly line, to back up Ravage in a final battle. After which, the enemy crumbled to our prowess and put up little to no resistance. They eventually fled, in part because of fear, and the rest from rage.

Me vsTelos
A few days ago me and Telos played a practice 1v1 game out of sheer boredom. Early on I managed to contain Telos inside his base while i gained and economic advantage. After so close calls from drops by Telos, he managed to break my containment and head for my base. Unfortunately for him however, my economy was too strong and I was able to pump out stalkers and colossus until I went for the jugular. All around gg

Another Intense 2v2 game with Ravage and I
This was another close game with ravage and I on sc2. It was probably closer then it should have been because ravage has been playing as zerg. For nearly dying in the beginning, Ravage came back to help me pull off a profound victory...

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is an Anime based off of the game Phantom of the Inferno for the Xbox360, PS2, and PC. It is not necessary to play the game to watch the Anime, and the Anime is Supurb.
Taking place in America, Phantom is an intriguing story about a Boy whose memories are taken away and is then forced to kill others in order to avoid being killed by his overseers. Working for a mysterious organization known as "Inferno", the main character Zwei(the name he is given) is forced to learn the arts of assassination by the enigmatic Phantom whom is the first person he meets after he looses his memory. She is the agencies top sniper, and her cold demeanor throughout the Anime is interspersed with moments of uncharacteristic warmth and compassion.
My review of phantom will be out soon, as i have taken a break at episode 10 to let my friends keep pace. In the meantime I will be spending my time making crude Anime Backrounds for the show, and of course playing video games. Like the phantom game mode in SC which will be reviewed later.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
A podcast has just been released answering some questions about the new Elder Scrolls game Skyrim. If anyone loves RPGs or Bethesda games this is a must listen.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2011/02/03/toddhowardse.aspx
Guide: Basics
This is going to be my first installment of guides for starcraft2. In this edition ill be covering some of the basics of starcraft2. Lets start with control groups.
Control groups
Control groups are assigned hotkey for any of your buildings and units to any of the keys 1 through 0. This allows you to quickly call up important quads of units as well as any of your buildings. This is particularly vital considering that this allows u to continue to produce units while fighting. Standard hotkeys in starcraft2 usually consist of your main army on 1, spellcasters on 2, micro required units on 3, and production structures on the remaining (remember you can put multiple units and buildings in one control group).
Economy
Your ecnomoy in starcraft2 is quite possibly the most important factor in the game as this directly determines how many units you can get onto the field. The central aspect in managing one's ecnomy in starcraft2 is simply to always be producing workers. This ensures max usage of your bases resources but remember each base does have a limit. The optimal number of workers mining both minerals and gas is 24 and 3(per gyser) respectively. After reaching this number, its in your best units to make a new base. Each race in starcraft2 also its own economy enhancer. The terran have the mule, the protoss the chrono boost, and the zerg the queen. Each is necessary in order to use the most our of your race.
Basic Tips
- Keep total mineral count low, having extra minerals means u have less units on the field that u should, try to stay below 400
- Always be producing units, if you don't your enemy will and you'll soon find yourself outnumbered
- Don't get supply blocked! build your next supply structure when you have about 5-6 remaining
- When your in the battle stay focused on the battle. Never jump between base building while in the battle as this is a sure way to get your units killed, however, if the battle is clearly a loss cause it might be best to focus on building
-Good Luck!

Dead space 2
My dead space 2 review.
Graphics: 4/5 (I had to play it on low so look for yourself)
Sound 2/5 Because its misleading, when playing in stereo sound from behind you is really coming really in front of you. The in game music was only there to tell you when monsters were on their way.
Game play 4/5 : It was fun for a while and the story was enough to keep you going, but after a while it gets predictable and linear around chapter 7
Multiplayer -/5: I didn't get to try multiplayer but it looked fun enough, nothing too great
Horror/Scariness 2/5: I got this game hoping for something scary, like the first dead space one is
less scary and like the last dead space, you can easily predict where the monsters will "pop out" at you. They don't even really pop out anymore, in fact they give you a big warning as to when you will be attacked. Overall don't play this for the horror aspect, play it for the exploration/story
Overall it was a decent shooter. play it if you liked the first one, and want to see the story continued. If you don't like 3rd person shooters this isn't the place to start. and if you want a scary game go buy amnesia. my final score is (3/5) its nothing special
World of Warcraft Cataclysm
I have been playing WoW as it is called since early 2005 and the game has continued to be fun and entertaining. However recently i had quit due to the my lackluster feelings towards the latest expansion and my friends leaving the game. Recently i returned to the world of Azeroth and was pleased to find that much had changed for the better. Lower level quests were now fun to play again as the story had advanced a few years and the quests had been up dated with newer features. I normally play as a Holy Paladin but recently due to the patch changes I started a Mage and now have a level 85 Paladin for raid healing and a level 46 Mage that i am trying to level to get to my friends level so we can play together. The game is ever changing and new stuff to do is added all the time, I do not like Dnoop says feel as though i need to "Grind those levels" as in other MMOs, because in WoW you are always doing something fun where you don't need to just kill 1 person after another. You can now level without having to spend hours killing and rather by playing player verses player battles and practing fun professions such as Blacksmithing which allows your character to get powerful armor and benefits. These features are contrary to newer MMO's which arent already established and don't have enough content.
If you don't like WoW and its not your thing, perhaps me riding a flying beetle into combat against EVA 1 is.

Duty Calls
Another Halarious parody of a popular game has been released by the makers of Bulletstorm. The first parody was the "Believe" halo 3 trailer with the action figure battle. Now they spoof Call of Duty with a short playthrough of what they view the CoD series is about. And they do it amazingly well. Parodying the lame red jelly screen when you fight, the lame slow motion and even the ranking systems. If you want to play the game you should head of to http://www.thedutycalls.com/ to get the free download. All though its a quick game, it was very fun to play....
This video is a walk through of the level. I suggest watching it if you don't want to download the game.Hope to see more parody's by them

Why you don't 6pool vs Terran
Me and Telos were recently playing some 2v2s when we noticed that both of our enemies picked zerg. For any semi decent starcraft2 player this almost definitely signals the dreaded 6pool zergling rush. Since we knew this however, we fended it off easily, and delivered some well deserved pay back. As the saying goes, Payback's a bitch.

Rusty in Diamond
Well I've finally started to get back into the 1v1 spirit. Problem is I'm starting from my mid division diamond rank i had before i took a break. Needless to say I've been getting wrecked on a regular basis and am now currently trying to decide between Terran and Protoss for my main. Hopefully I regain some of my former glory before getting bumped back to platinum.
